VICKY JACKSON

A solo picture of Atlanta dance instructor Vicky

Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas- Vicky discovered her passion for dance, officially, at the ripe age of 14- Although she’d been dancing all her life! Her first introduction was by joining her hometown friends in a trio called “New Creation”. Within a year’s span, she’d felt called to further her training, having decided to move to Dallas, Texas at the age of 15. Here, she had access to an overwhelming diverse community of styles and individuals that instantly became her second home/family. She’s trained in ballet, contemporary, tap, house, popping, hip hop foundation, and West African movement. Over the years, she’s been blessed to train with some of the best in the industry from traveling & attending Monsters Dance & Misfit Dance Conventions. As well as, being given opportunities to perform, lead, creative direct, & choreograph for some of Dallas’ home base youth & adult teams-  Dancing For A Cause: Impact N’ Change, The Neighborhood, and UNT’s FSA-Choreoblock. Movement is how Vicky communicates back to the every day world- it’s her being. As she continues progressing in the professional realm, her vibrancy and unconventionality leads her to organically create spaces for other quirky, and inspired artists to be seen, heard, and accepted- without judgement, and a natural drive toward an ideal, whole expression.
